A battery energy storage system arrives in Chile in containers weighing tens of tonnes, that cannot be tilted, cannot be knocked, and often exceed standard dimensions. The equipment costs several times the freight, so the criterion here is not moving fast: it is damaging nothing and arriving when the site is ready to receive.

What this freight takes

Equipment for oversized loads
A lowboy or an extendable trailer, depending on the height and width of the unit. Total height decides the route, because it decides what structures you can pass under.
Oversize movement permit
When the unit exceeds maximum dimensions, the movement needs a permit and an authorized route. It is filed beforehand, and the time that takes is part of the delivery time.
Securing and impact control
A battery is not secured like a machine. The securing spreads the force over the points the manufacturer defines, not over the container structure.
Coordination with the site
On a park under construction the access changes week to week. The delivery date is set against the real state of the road and of the unloading point.

Common questions

How heavy a load can you move?
Give us the weight, the dimensions and the height of the unit and we will come back with the equipment it takes and whether it needs a permit. Without those three, any answer would be made up.
Do you file the oversize permit yourselves?
Yes, where the load requires it. It goes in the quote as a separate line with its own lead time, because the filing takes time that is not ours to control.
Can you move the whole project, not just the batteries?
Yes. A park has battery containers, transformers, structural steel and construction material, and each one takes different equipment. Coordinating that through one point of contact is exactly the point.
